Welcome to Lilley CC

Welcome to the online home of Lilley Cricket Club, one of the Country's oldest clubs, with origins back in the mid-1890s. Lilley CC are based at the picturesque Geoff Banks-Smith Memorial Cricket Ground in Lilley, on the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire border.

Following a brief period of lapse, the club was reformed in 1976 by a group of enthusiasts from the village - initially using an old caravan as a clubhouse! Lilley Cricket Club have gone from strength to strength ever since, hosting the England Ladies team and former West Indies Captain Clive Lloyd in the 1980s. Members eventually replaced the caravan with a hand built wooden pavilion - purportedly planned on the back of a beer mat in a village pub! Sadly the pavilion was destroyed by fire in 1998, but after much fund raising, a new pavilion has now been built at the East end of the ground.

Lilley appeared as Wisden Cricketer magazine 'Club Of The Month' in 2010 and in the same year appeared on Sky Sports Cricket AM as Club Of The Week. Lilley currently play in the Broadview Windows North Herts Cricket League on Sundays as well as a host of T20 competitions during the summer.
